Dorin

Dorin is a mountainous, dimly lit planet with an atmosphere comprised of Dorin gas and helium. The native species, the Kel Dor, can breathe the atmosphere comfortably, while visiting species must wear rebreathers in order to survive on the planet's surface.

The galaxy map builds its planets in a shader rather than shipping a picture of each one. This marble uses Dorin's own surface material: its land and sea gradients, its temperature, its sea level and its tint colours. The continents are generated, because the game generates those too.

Galactic record

Oxygen is actively poisonous to a Kel Dor, so the antiox masks they wear offworld are a requirement rather than a comfort. Dor'shan is the city most visitors ever see.
