Galactic record

A royal family rules Shu-Torun over the ore-supplying nobles beneath it, and the court runs on ritual and pageantry to a degree outsiders find hard to follow. The Spike, raised by the first settlers, still stands over it all. The Empire found the arrangement useful and left it in place.
