The galaxy map builds its planets in a shader rather than shipping a picture of each one. This marble uses Gamorr's own surface material: its land and sea gradients, its temperature, its sea level and its tint colours. The continents are generated, because the game generates those too.
Galactic record
The Gamorreans cleared much of their own forest for farmland, which is why so much of the surface now reads as cropland. Most of the galaxy never comes here and meets them offworld instead, hired as muscle by somebody else.
