The galaxy map builds its planets in a shader rather than shipping a picture of each one. This marble uses Kessel's own surface material: its land and sea gradients, its temperature, its sea level and its tint colours. The continents are generated, because the game generates those too.
Kessel is split in half. The northern hemisphere is spice mining, worked under the Pyke Syndicate and the Empire, and the southern is lush sanctuary. It exports coaxium as well as spice, and the Akkadese Maelstrom wrapped around it is what makes the run in and out so dangerous.
