Jakku
Once a verdant world of forests and seas, Jakku was transformed to a desert wasteland at some point in the distant past. Far from major trade routes and without any natural resources, this scarcely inhabited planet is considered inconsequential by the galaxy at large.

The galaxy map builds its planets in a shader rather than shipping a picture of each one. This marble uses Jakku's own surface material: its land and sea gradients, its temperature, its sea level and its tint colours. The continents are generated, because the game generates those too.
Jakku is a desert nobody wanted until 5 ABY, when what happened here shaped the rest of galactic history. The wreckage is still in the sand and scavengers work it out of Niima Outpost. The Teedo and the Uthuthma are native. Almost nobody else is here by choice.
