This shattered world was obliterated hundreds of years in the past by unknown forces. Numerous bases have since been established on the larger asteroids in the debris field.

The galaxy map builds its planets in a shader rather than shipping a picture of each one. This marble uses Polis Massa's own surface material: its land and sea gradients, its temperature, its sea level and its tint colours. The continents are generated, because the game generates those too.
Galactic record
Polis Massa is not a planet any more. It is what survived whatever destroyed the world that was here, a planetoid in a dense asteroid field, and the Archaeological Research Council set up on it to work out what happened.
