The Brothers Bep
Two Anzellan brothers named Manu and Vanu Bep approach us with a strange request. From what Neesh can understand, they are treasure hunters in possession of a locked camtono which they want to store somewhere for safekeeping. Would Zero Company be willing to host this camtono, in exchange for many credits? Their one condition is that we not ask any questions about its contents.
Which option to pick
Take "the deal". It is the only one that pays, at 1,000 credits.
What the operation puts to you, what each answer pays, and how it turned out. An option with two outcomes is one that can go wrong.
This one is a dilemma, so the roster has opinions about it. Everyone who backs the option you pick gains bond with Hawks and with each other, everyone who opposes it loses bond with Hawks, and a backer and an opposer lose bond between themselves. The six written operators react by name; anyone you recruit or create reacts by their dilemma archetype.
ATake the deal. What we don't know can't hurt us.
We accepted the Brothers' credits and stashed their camtono in the depths of our hangar. From time to time, operators report that it rattles, but we tell them to ignore it. It's probably just the echo of all those credits they paid us to take it.
BDon't take the deal. We have a bad feeling about this.
After reflection, we told the Anzellans we couldn't accept their camtono. The Brothers conferred, their jabbering tones tinged with uncharacteristic sadness. Neesh translated their final words: "You are wiser than we." They went on their way, lugging their mysterious burden with them.
CAsk them questions. We're going to need some more details.
As we pressed the Brothers for more information about their camtono, they grew more and more agitated. Neesh managed to translate only a few lines: "The contents are none of your affair! It is our burden alone, we never should have come here!" Then they left for good, lugging their mysterious burden with them. Guess we'll never know.
DAsk around about the Brothers. Someone must know what's in that camtono.
Although reports vary, everyone agrees there were once three Brothers Bep. The third brother, Yosa, vanished during a treasure hunting expedition. Manu and Vanu came back with the camtono. What's in it? Nobody knows, and frankly, we don't want to find out.
