The galaxy map builds its planets in a shader rather than shipping a picture of each one. This marble uses Kashyyyk's own surface material: its land and sea gradients, its temperature, its sea level and its tint colours. The continents are generated, because the game generates those too.
Kashyyyk's wroshyr trees grow tall enough that the Wookiees built their cities in the canopy rather than on the forest floor, which is not a safe place to be. Czerka Corporation reached the planet four millennia before the Empire did and enslaved the population; the Empire later held it as a protectorate.
